Pavo Heart Game: Wednesday Session

When you enter the light, you find yourself hovering weightless in a void, as if caught in a moment of falling inertia. In the distance, you hear a voice that seems to shift and twist, familiar and yet unfamiliar.

"You shouldn't be here. But since you already are, let's make a wager. If you can uncover the truth, you'll find me. If you can't, you may be hopelessly lost... What a shame that would be."

You begin falling, and your vision blacks out--

It's the inside of "my" heart.

[If she turns the pictures back around, the saturation of the scene will slowly, almost imperceptibly, increase with each one that's flipped.

The panther's horns are definitely an exact copy of yours.]

"My" sense of security and belonging was killed by something that happened four years ago. At that time, even though "I" made a willing choice, the wounds in this heart were severe. But that's all I can tell you.

....ah. That sort of thing. I suppose that's understandable.

[....wait.]

Is this me?

It is, yes.

[That gets a pause and]

[A very long stare because that's]

[That's something.]

No! No, I...don't. Dislike it.

[It actually hits hard when she's used to just be a passing figure for people.]

Having people care you exist is important.

That's true. Maybe one day, that picture will be more prominent.

[She moves around, and starting flipping over the pictures.]

[You flip the pictures! By the time they're restored, the room has a bit of colour again. The voices are a little more audible. It's still very, very muted, but it's notably better than it was.]

[Its still something. Trust issues are hard, after all, but sometimes-]

I'm not used to being saved.

It's strange when someone reaches out to you unexpectedly, isn't it?

[Noctua sounds a little contemplative, at that.]

Yes.

More so when you expect to not be helped. The dangers of being connected to nature. Adaptation is so much of what I have to be, people get used to me handling it.

But its nice.

[He doesn't have anything to say to that, but he does give a thoughtful nod.

You are free to stick around, or go try one of the other doors: red door, blue door, sturdy door, stairs.]

[It is in fact! There appear to be six locks, two of which are undone, faintly glowing with geo.]

[Oh good.]
