Pavo Heart Game: Monday Session

When you enter the light, you find yourself hovering weightless in a void, as if caught in a moment of falling inertia. In the distance, you hear a voice that seems to shift and twist, familiar and yet unfamiliar.

"You shouldn't be here. But since you already are, let's make a wager. If you can uncover the truth, you'll find me. If you can't, you may be hopelessly lost... What a shame that would be."

You begin falling, and your vision blacks out--

I guess it's natural that nature plays a big part, with this world having such a strong connection to the elements... no. Focus, Celes. You need to find that switch...

[Time to snoop around With Purpose! She's not going to bother the familiar faces yet-- though she miiiight listen while she's looking around for anything noteworthy. Just in case something relevant comes up. Y'know. As you do.]

[You do eventually find the switch, on the wall behind a freestanding cabinet. You can barely reach it, but it is available.

Meanwhile, the patrons continue to chatter about their days and whatever other mundane things. Pavo & Noctua are sassing eachother about equally inane things, but despite all the insults it's definitely flirting.

BUT... Soon enough, Pavo turns and looks her way.]

Now now, little bunny. You can't spy on a spy.

[...! There it is. And here she is, cursed with short legs. She could reach it but-- also, she's caught.]

...guess it was pretty obvious, huh.

It felt too rude to interrupt, though.

Not at all. Why don't you join us for a drink?

[He's all smiles, patting the empty stool next to him. Noctua looks at her with an unreadable expression, but his cheeks are a little pink. He follows Pavo's offer up with his own.]

You can have one on the house. Death After Noon, or grape juice?

[apparently Pavo's heart just wants her drunk.

...saying no to Noctua... hhhhhhhhh.]

Aha... weeeell just one should be okay. [...] Death After Noon-- that's your favorite, right Pavo? I'd love to try it.

[Pavo's heart loves people being drunk!

Noctua nods and starts making the cocktail, and Pavo laughs.]

It is my favourite. And it's the strongest drink on the menu.

[wHEEZES]

Th... the strongest, huh? Guess I missed that little detail before. Guess I shouldn't be too surprised though.

You really shouldn't. I'm that kind of guy!

[Noctua pours the drink and slides it over to you. It's more of that incredibly strong dandelion wine (more of a dandelion liquor, really), cut with a sparkling white wine. If you drink it, you'll find it makes you feel comfortable, a little happy. It's a mild effect and quite pleasant.]

[She got herself into this, she's gonna keep going. The feeling is a lot less intense than she expected-- it's really nice!]

Oh-- that is really good. I can see why you like it so much.

It's the best. And by the way, you're welcome to tap that lock whenever you like. Honestly, you can do what you want to in here. It's fine with us.

[Pavo shrugs, and Noctua quietly nods, with a faint smile.]

...We like having you here.

[He says, in his usual polite tone. You may notice, as you drink, that there is a small folded piece of paper under your glass.]

...I like being here. And it makes me happy to know that you want me to stay.

[But noticing the paper, she blinks and picks it off. What's on it...?]

Aww, we're flattered.

[says Pavo.

The paper is a note. It reads:

A secret:

Don't do anything in the upstairs room. Find the lock and run.]

[Oh. She folds the note back up and nods her head gently.]

You should be. You're both very special to me.

Thank you for the drink.

[Her eyes say thanks for the tip too.]

I should keep going-- but I know we'll all be together again soon.

[Time to steal a chair to cliiiimb up and activate the switch before she goes!]

We will be.

[says Noctua, as Pavo simply laughs. You activate the lock, and head back to the starting point. Your remaining options are: the sturdy door, the red door, and upstairs.]

[Upstairs is bound to be risky, but she knows to be quick so-- upstairs it is!]

[You head upstairs, to the sea of stars.]
