Pavo Heart Game: Monday Session

When you enter the light, you find yourself hovering weightless in a void, as if caught in a moment of falling inertia. In the distance, you hear a voice that seems to shift and twist, familiar and yet unfamiliar.

"You shouldn't be here. But since you already are, let's make a wager. If you can uncover the truth, you'll find me. If you can't, you may be hopelessly lost... What a shame that would be."

You begin falling, and your vision blacks out--

[The maze is deep and winding, and your reflections numerous and increasingly oddly shaped. You get the distinct sense you're being watched, and closely.]

[it's not the first time he's been watched. and just going to proceed in, warily.

[Alas for your spear.

The watching feeling remains, but nothing seems to come of it. You round a corner -- and suddenly, you see a green, sunny piece of meadow. It's completely different from the ice around it. Peaceful. Beautiful.]

[...completely, completely different. and...proceeding into the meadow, then.]

[The meadow is very nice! For an instant, you feel warm.

And then it disappears. You can see it, floating away in a faint cloud of mist.]

[well. what was that?

...now what are the surroundings like?]

[More maze, and more increasing sense that something dangerous is staring at you!

Do you proceed to the center, or try something else?]

[oh, something dangerous is staring at him. just like every day before he ended up dead and here.

[You keep going! Every so often, when you turn, you find another pleasant scene. A warm hearth, a rooftop with a gentle breeze. But every time you enter them, they disappear. The sense of eyes on you doesn't let up, but you do, eventually, reach the center.

There, you find a small hollow, free from the cold. There's a fireplace and a plush sofa, on which Pavo is lounging with a cocktail glass in hand.]

Wow, you didn't even a flinch. That's an adeptus for you.

[the sound he makes is a quiet snort, but going to just like kind of give him a flat stare.]
