Pavo Heart Game: Sunday Session

When you enter the light, you find yourself hovering weightless in a void, as if caught in a moment of falling inertia. In the distance, you hear a voice that seems to shift and twist, familiar and yet unfamiliar.

"You shouldn't be here. But since you already are, let's make a wager. If you can uncover the truth, you'll find me. If you can't, you may be hopelessly lost... What a shame that would be."

You begin falling, and your vision blacks out--

I'd rather you didn't. It doesn't seem like we'll need it anymore anyway. You saw those monsters, right, before we left?

I suppose we could try finding the lock first without activating the Sight.

And yes, those reflections will need to be cleaned out before we can move further into the maze.

I doubt we'll need it. I mean... you managed to get the lock in the last room and I don't think we needed it in the first. It seems like Elemental Sight just shows us the true nature of this place... for better or for worse. [ ... ] We can head back into the maze last then... after we've found the other locks. [ he's going to reach for zhongli's hand. ]

I am amendable to this plan.

4/7 isn't bad. We might be able to do this. Not sure what the hell could be behind the door though. I'm getting mixed signals. [ motions to that dude in the hall, assuming he's still there. ] He thinks we should, but the little girl seemed to think *he* was afraid of what was behind it, ...

In that last room with the Grandmaster, she told me he was his sense of loyalty and responsibility. And that it had been shifting over time.

What did you see when you used the Sight?

...she hadn't been there and the desk was askew with piles of paperwork. Boring shit. I fixed a broken statue of Barbatos and found out that he's probably just as shady as the Fatui. I also saw a memory of when he was inducted into the knights. He seemed torn.

The Grandmaster also said that behind the locked door was his true self. That opening it would be good for him. But I began to wonder---

This is just another game hosted by the faeries. They expose memories and manipulate feelings and desires. This game is no different. If positions were reversed, what would I want for those I cared about? What would be fair?

I do not think it is my place to tread where I am not sure I am invited.

Perhaps we should just unlock the door but not enter that room.

...I think hell would freeze over before I was invited into his true self. [ snorts. ] But if I'm being honest, Xiansheng, if our positions were reversed and it was he who was in my heart, then I wouldn't trust him not to tread where he isn't invited. I do not know him well enough to say whether he would or would not, so I will defer to your assessment of the matter.
