I've never been the one who leaves, Noctua.

[It's impossible to completely hide the bitterness in that tone but he tries, all while petting Noctua soothingly.]

No matter what, I'll be right where I should be until the day it's all over. There's nothing you can do to change that.

[His tone is reassuring, mostly. But he knows what he's actually saying is not. He won't run, because he has a purpose. He won't disappear, because Noctua's the one he still expects to end him.]
