The wind blast seems to ruffle the shadow, sending bits of it flying away like wisps of black smoke. The whole body doesn't seem to be able to approach you, but it flings out its tendril-like claws again, and they cut right through the wind.
But only just. You'll take gashes to wherever it hits, but while they're painful they're not life-threatening.
